Production and quality control in Danish gynaecology

Data on this site have all been established from the National Register of Patients (NRP) (Landspatientregisteret), which collects diagnosis and surgery codes for all in- and out patients at Danish hospitals. Recording at the same time personal identification number of these women and codes for involved department makes it possible to follow all women for possible new events including post operative complications and re-operations.

The statistics cover all Gynaecological departments in Denmark . The results have to taken with the reservation that they are not more valid than the codes they are based on.

Some differences between departments may be due to statistical chance, other might reflect differences in the patients rather than differences in the clinical quality at a certain department.
